We adapted the infotainment and lighting systems of this US-specification BMW X7 (G07 LCI) to the European configuration. We updated the vehicle software (I-Level), changed the infotainment region, configured the interface languages and radio frequencies, and installed European navigation maps. After the maps were installed, traffic sign recognition with speed limit display (SLI) became operational.

The lighting work included fitting European rear lights and retrofitting a separate rear fog light. We added wiring in the bumper to connect the fog light and replaced the light switch with a version featuring the corresponding button. We also enabled the BMW Selective Beam glare-free high beam function (Anti-Dazzle).

We also retrofitted an electrically operated towbar. This involved installing the towbar, wiring and control unit, and making the required electrical connections. We then added the electric towbar option to the vehicle’s equipment configuration and coded the relevant control units.

Vehicle software update

We updated the vehicle software (I-Level).

European infotainment region

European rear lights

We fitted European rear lights with amber indicators.

Rear fog light

We replaced the reflector in the bumper with a separate rear fog light and added the wiring to connect it. We also replaced the light switch with a version featuring a rear fog light button.

Glare-free high beam

We enabled the BMW Selective Beam glare-free high beam function (Anti-Dazzle). The system automatically adjusts the high beam distribution, masking the areas occupied by detected oncoming vehicles and vehicles travelling ahead. Other sections of the road remain illuminated by high beam.

Electric towbar

We retrofitted the BMW X7 (G07 LCI) with an electrically operated towbar. We installed the towbar, routed the wiring into the vehicle interior, fitted the towbar control unit and made all the necessary electrical connections. We then added the electric towbar option to the vehicle’s equipment configuration and coded the relevant control units to integrate it into the vehicle’s electronic systems.
