Front Radar Installation
The front radar required for the 5DF system was installed at the front of the vehicle.

This BMW X5 F15 was retrofitted with BMW option 5DF — Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go function.
The work included installation of the front radar and its wiring, replacement of the Integrated Chassis Management (ICM) control unit with the required additional wiring, and installation of the appropriate steering-wheel controls. The vehicle was then programmed and coded, and the newly installed system was commissioned.
Radar Wiring Integration
The required wiring was routed and connected between the radar and the vehicle’s electrical system.
ICM Control Unit Replacement
The Integrated Chassis Management (ICM) control unit was replaced as part of the 5DF retrofit.
ICM Wiring Integration
The additional wiring required for the replacement ICM control unit was installed and integrated.
Steering-Wheel Controls
The steering-wheel button unit was replaced with the version supporting the 5DF functions.
Programming & Commissioning
The vehicle was programmed and coded, and the newly installed 5DF system was commissioned.
